Dieudonne

Defenders: 2 regiments of the Marik Militia
Rebels: Terran Resistance (non-Mech, irregular foot infantry, unknown size)
Battles: St. Therese (Region), St. Germaine (Region)
Briefing:
The world of Dieudonne was the site of a rare battle between the Usurper and a House Lord. Captain-General Kenyon Marik reacted quickly to the news of the Amaris Coup by ordering his troops to defend any shared planets on the Hegemony border. Kenyon went a step further when Rim Worlds forces violated League space on Dieudonne assembling a taskforce to eject them from Free Worlds territory altogether. The Battle for Dieudonne began in early 2767 when the Captain-General personally led a Marik force against these Periphery interlopers. Driving off the Usurper’s minions made Kenyon extremely popular throughout the Free Worlds League and to a certain extent the rest of the InnerSphere. His performance earned the “Eagle” widespread recognition but all this came at a price. Marik’s actions devastated the Terran half of Dieudonne where the lion share of the fighting occurred and earned Kenyon the lasting enmity of the natives. These feelings were only strengthened when Marik ejected the SLDF from the Free Worlds League prior to the Hegemony Campaign.
During Kenyon’s War the Terran Resistance went from one enemy to another. The FWLM considered any armed group a threat during its “liberation” and so has actively hunted the Partisans of Dieudonne. Two regiments of the Marik Militia continue to patrol the planet at all times but constant unit rotations have led to some confusion as to their specific identity. For years SAFE and other Federal League agencies have fought a constant insurgency backed by military force. Thus far they have been unable to completely eliminate the Terran rebels who continue to fight despite years of military occupation. A Marik naval blockade has effectively prevented the flow of off world supplies to the resistance since 2781. Recently League authorities have begun an extensive crackdown aimed at pacifying the Resistance. This increased pressure may finally break the Terran freedom fighter efforts unless they receive immediate aid. The destruction wrought on the planetary infrastructure has given the Partisans a base of operations from which to strike. They are masters of using this rubble environment to their advantage in combat simply fading into the landscape when an attack has been concluded. Currently the former resort communities along the St. Therese and St. Germaine archipelagos are home to the wars fiercest combat.
