Briefing:

The often disputed world of Callison was a shared possession of the Terran Hegemony and the Free Worlds League during the Star League. Prior to the unification of the InnerSphere this heavily industrialized world with ample resources, fertile farm lands, and a highly cosmopolitan population was a Marik held prize seized long ago from the Federation of Skye. The Free Worlds League managed to hang on during the Age of War in spite of Lyran efforts to break their hold over Callison. As the Star League came together House Marik agreed to joint ownership of the planet with the Terrans easing tension over border disputes with the Lyrans. This clever compromise turned a potential problem area into a key trade world used by all three parties. During the Amaris Crisis the FWLM was able to defend the planet from the Usurper. This benevolent act was the start of a quiet Marik conquest of Callison in reality. Captain-General Kenyon Marik coveted the planet for his nation alone and had refused to discuss any Terran return. This came as a great disappointment to the natives who wish to retain their neutral standing rather than become a battleground once more.

The Terran Resistance on planet has run a careful hit and run campaign against the Marik occupation to drum up popular support from the citizens of Callison. Rather than wage a traditional guerilla war that often results in collateral damage the Ghosts of Callison have struck directly at Free Worlds League forces and installations. Favorite targets for the Resistance are the planetside spaceports at Fallosha and Rolso. Not only are they a target rich for the Ghosts but attacking them has effectively shut off foreign commerce. The FWLM has held on to the cities of Harzburg and Mountainside without opposition. Per standard policy Marik Central Command has rotated many different Federal units on and off world. Currently an Atrean Dragoon and Marik Militia force are on planet executing garrison assignments. We are unable to ascertain the exact units involved however thanks to high security measures and their frequent movement. The Free Worlds League Navy has had trouble maintaining their blockade of Callison thanks to the nearby Zesamali Asteroid Belt. This belt is heavily mined and inhabited by many workers who actively aid the Resistance. CIB usually makes supply runs here which are then transported secretly to planet with newly extracted raw materials. SAFE would like the Belters shutdown for this offense but the League is desperate for their resources and will not allow production to be stopped.
