Imbros III

Defenders: 6th Arkab Legion
Rebels: Terran Resistance (non-Mech, irregular foot infantry, unknown size)
Battles: Trunner (Region), Larabel (Region)
Briefing:
This unremarkable arid world holds little value to most except for a few miners who find the abundance of bauxite attractive. The Usurper was so unimpressed by the planet that he refused to waste Rim World troops on garrisoning it after the Coup. Instead Amaris forced the Draconis Combine to defend Imbros by leveraging his high born Kurita hostages as collateral. As a result the DCMS was the sole occupying force on world since 2767. This has led to a unique point of view among the people of Imbros who consider House Kurita their true enemy rather than Stefan Amaris. During the first Draconis occupation, which lasted till mid-2772, the Combine gave the citizenry a wide berth and hardly bothered to even show their presence. The Dragon was still reviled for its naked aggression even though Imbros was spared the wrath of the Usurper as a direct consequence of the Combine’s actions. The SLDF liberated the world during the Hegemony Campaign to the great acclaim of the populace chasing away their evil overlords. As Operation Liberation began the Dragon returned with a vengeance determined to subjugate the now under defended planet and use it as a jumping off point for future territorial acquisitions.
Thanks the strategic importance of Imbros III the 6th Arkab Legion has been stationed on planet mainly to stage raids on interior Terran worlds. The level of resistance has so far prevented the Legion from taking full advantage of this ideal base world by requiring them to redeploy for increased planetary garrison patrols. The ISF has its hands full tracking down native insurgents who continue to fight the Draconis invasion of their homeworld. The DCA blockade of Imbros while effective in cutting off outside support has failed to starve out the rebels thus far. This is because the people of Imbros were well prepared by the SLDF to fight back any Draconis incursion. The Dragonslayers, as the Terran Resistance group calls itself, have been fighting the Combine for more than a decade now and take a special pride in hurting their enemy’s progress. As the level of defiance has continued to rise on planet so has the Draconians’ reprisal against the native populace which may suffer an enormous cost if the fighting continues much longer.
