The rumors are true. The Star League, conquerors that couldn’t leave the freedom loving peoples of the Periphery to live their own lives, has fallen.

Prospectors have been searching for valuable and precious items for millennia. Whether it’s gold, germanium, diamonds, or artifacts, the only thing that has changed since then is the technology and locations. Those that seek the next “motherlode” are no different that their forebears. Though they may use the latest in scanning and imaging tools, their drive to go beyond the edge is paramount.

Terra (Universal News and Reports)
Despite the progress that has been made in the restoration of the Inner Sphere’s HPG network, the former Territorial States of the Star League remain disconnected from the system. During the Periphery uprisings, the HPG network was a prime target for both the SLDF and the insurgents, as both sides attempted to deny the other access to communications. Following the start of the Amaris Coup, the few remaining SLCOMNET personnel operating in the Periphery states were withdrawn and used to help build Jerome Blake’s improvised Prime Circuit, which was vital to the restoration of the Inner Sphere’s communication network. With no technicians able to operate the HPG systems left in the Periphery states it was commonly believed that the few surviving facilities were stripped for equipment and abandoned. The sole exception to this was in the former Rim Worlds Republic, which serving as the SLDF’s base of operations during the occupation of Terra, saw it’s HPG network upgraded and expanded to support the needs of the SLDF.
