After the shock attacks by our neighbors, the Republic was plunged into shock. Now, that shock has turned into outrage and anger. On every world recruiting stations for the TRAS are struggling to cope with the demand from our citizens to serve. Factory workers are working extra shifts unpaid to produce vital war materiel. We must, and we will resist this naked aggression.
Sadly the modern military machine is not something to be quickly wielded like a sword. We must face setbacks as we gather our strength and the Republican Times has recently received a copy of a garbled transmission from Lambrecht, the first signal from there since Kurita’s Operation Katana and I have to stress the identity of the speaker is unconfirmed at this time.
“…. for a few days longer, the city of Middle Park is about to fall. There are snake ‘Mechs everywhere. The TRAS forces were easily outmatched and beaten in the field. So far, civilian casualties have been light but the remains of two combat brigades have fortified the port facilities in the capital. They refuse to surrender and it looks like the invaders are going to have to clear them out building by buildi… ”
We received an official statement from the TRAS Press Office that reads as follows: “The TRAS does neither conducts or discusses Operations in the full glare of the media, however, the Battle for Lambrecht is still underway and we fully expect the loyal forces there to deliver our citizens from House Kurita’s tyranny.”
It is the opinion of this publication, that despite the dark times the Terran Republic is facing, peace and prosperity lie ahead. It is a time for everyone to stand up and serve.
