Hello everyone! Welcome to our newest site, a News Blog dedicated to our own personal BattleTech (sci-fi) universe named Shattered Dawn.

Assembled and hosted by Joshua “Knightmare” Kessler who deserves an awful lot of credit for expanding on my ideas. He has really helped bring this effort to life. Originally I was going to post events from our First Succession War on our Forum but as you will see this site goes beyond just simple posts. In addition I would like to thank Larry “Highball” Leslie for his excellent map of the Central Sphere which has added considerable flair to our new website. Finally, I would like to thank Lee “Irose” Rosenberg and Jeffrey “Sir Robin” Nichols for their written contributions to our first update, without them this endeavor would not be possible.The Universal News & Reports (UNR) website will endeavor to keep you, the viewer, informed of the developments impacting the Human Sphere during BattleTech: Shattered Dawn’s First Succession War in the same manner as Classic BattleTech’s INN. As with FanPro’s Jihad material this info might be incomplete, biased, or even fraudulent so reader beware. The site will certainly give you a solid idea to the present happenings in the Inner Sphere, initially focusing on the Terran Republic and expanding to the other great nations of the Inner Sphere.

Our site begins with the date, August 1, 2785, from which we will hopefully provide weekly updates, each one covering a month of “in universe” game time. Updates will include fictional news articles from around the Inner Sphere, each a unique perspective on the war as it unfolds.

You may also notice that as the universe progresses in Shattered Dawn our site will be updated accordingly to give you a real feel of the ongoing conflict affecting the nascent Terran Republic and her beleaguered people. Battlefield reports called Hot Spots will provide readers with background information on the Terran Republic pulled from Fanbook 2 – Project Phoenix, and special insights into the First Succession War conflict.

These updates will also be available for immediate download via an RSS function so readers and fans of Terran Republic can stay current with the latest happenings in the Shattered Dawn universe. Last but certainly not least we are hoping to eventually include Live Pod Casts based on newsworthy events happening in universe. So stay tuned.
